Zahlreiche Skandale sowie der aktuelle ÖVP-Korruptions-U-Ausschuss und Ermittlungen der Justiz auch gegen Organisationen im Umfeld der ÖVP sind Mitgrund für derzeit schlechte Umfragewerte. The focus of the party congress was the election of the federal party chairman of the People's Party. Numerous scandals as well as the current ÖVP corruption investigation committee and investigations by the judiciary also against organizations associated with the ÖVP are among the reasons for the currently poor poll numbers.
